Yesterday was the Winter Chill Trophy race at Eds RC Parkersburg. As usual the track was fun and flowing which made for some great racing. I ran my usual S35-4E ebuggy along with the all new S14-4 wheeler.

After messing around with a few different tires I settled on VP PRO Clay Flow evos on the front and Soft Flow Evos on the rear of the wheeler. I ran Soft Impulse ground down to slicks on the ebuggy.

I didn’t know what to expect from the wheeler since this is my very first 1/10 car and this is a all new car that is actually a carpet car. But after a couple changes it was great (thanks Tom Postalwait).

I would get the TQ in ebuggy after a really good run in round 3 and would qualify 2nd in Mod 4wd Buggy.

Up first was the wheeler main and I was a little nervous since I’m still new to the class. But this car was by far the best driving car I’ve ever drove at that track and probably one of the best driving cars I’ve ever drove. It just does everything right. I would hang with the always fast Adam Curry for a few minutes but he would pull away after some small mistakes on my part. I would hold 2nd the whole race.

Ebuggy was another story. Soft compound was great in qualifying but the track got some dust and became very slick for the main. (Should’ve ran SS) I tried to hang on but would fall to the back and was only able to salvage a 3rd. Congrats to Wade Piggott on the win.

Really happy with how everything went yesterday. I’m definitely not a 1/10 guy and have a lot to learn but it was nice to get a podium on the first outing with the car. The ebuggy main could have went better but I’m happy with how the car drove in qualifying. Just need to figure out the setup for the mains.
